Greetings from the North Pole!
As the holidays approach many families begin to gather the various decorations for the home. One that we make here at the North Pole has a history going back many years. At Christmas we are most familiar with the Nutcracker that looks like a toy soldier. Yet, today many forms are made as you can see in the picture. There are soldiers, women, elves, even Santa! Nutcracker dolls, are also known as Christmas nutcrackers. The dolls are symbols of good luck and frighten away mean spirits in German tradition. In German folklore Nutcrackers serve as protectors of a house. The elves enjoy making these wooden creations. Do you have a Nutcracker in your home at Christmas?
Bernard is calling me, so I better go for now. I must be needed in the Workshop. Have a Holly Jolly Day!
